The Box will Arive in 2009
Things have been pretty quiet regarding the Richard Kelly directed mystery known as The Box. We know that it has officially wrapped, but how long will it be until the film is shipped to the cinemas?
Luckily, we can answer that question with official news from Warner Bros. The studio has decided to release the big screen adaptation of Richard Matheson's "Button, Button" on March 20th, 2009! That's a long ways away, but the premise is quite interesting.
Cameron Diaz stars as a mother with an ill child. A strange box from an unknown sender arrives at their home with the promise that it will aid in curing her child in exchange for the death of a random person. Temptation gives way, and the box's button is pressed, followed immediately by a gunshot not far way.
With guilt on her conscience, the mother must solve the murder she helped put in motion!

Who doesn't love a good party? Come on, man! Powder blue suits! Disco balls! Chicks in chains being tortured by heavy-set guys who just wanna boogie! What more could you want? Oh yeah, signed mementos of your magical evening! We've got you covered!

I likely won't see this. Kelly has proven to be a one trick pony. After that pseudo-intellectual mess that was "Southland Tales" I've lost all faith in him. And Diaz is a person I hate to see in movies more and more these days.

Cameron Diaz? From the director of SOUTHLAND TALES and some incomprehensile pile of crap that every emo douchebag on the planet loves.
No thanks.
It takes a lot for me to actually wish that Eli Roth had directed this movie.
