The Alphabet Killer Finds Limited Theatrical Release
Anchor Bay announced today that their new psychological thriller The Alphabet Killer will be shown in a limited run starting Friday, December 12th. Additional screenings of the film are also planned in Rochester, Buffalo, Los Angeles, and New York. An exclusive and invitation only premiere will also take place at the NYC Cinema Village on Thursday, December 11th.
The Alphabet Killer is loosely base upon a series of murders that shook New York in the early 1970’s. In reality, the killer was never caught, and little of the truth and motivation behind the murders is known. A puzzling fact that earned the killer’s nickname was how the victims’ names, as well as the city they were from, all began with the same letter. Just how much the film relates to the historical facts – as well as how much it diverges - will be an interesting revelation.
The Alphabet Killer was directed by Rob Schmidt (Wrong Turn, Masters of Horror: Right To Die) and features an all-star cast including Eliza Dushku (Bring It On, Wrong Turn), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Saw), and Oscar®-winner Timothy Hutton (Ordinary People, Sunshine State).
