Surprise! Depp Joins Burton in Wonderland!

Oh, like we didn't all guess this was going to happen the moment Tim Burton's name was thrown into the mix.

THR confirmed everyone's suspicions that not only would Johnny Depp be teaming up again with his long-time director chum but he would also be playing the role of the Mad Hatter in Disney's new adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Will this mean the Hatter will be all sorts of creepy/cookey like in Burton's version of Wonka? That kind of portrayal may actually fit this time around!

Now, who wants to take a bet that Helena Bonham Carter will be cast as the Queen of Hearts or the March Hare?
