Summit Adds The Leaves to Slate

Imagine if you were traveling for a friend’s funeral, already a somber event to say the least, and you just happened to come across a fortune teller who not only identified you as evil, but fingered you as the bringer of the apocalypse.

That’s the fate the main character has to deal with in The Leaves, a one-shot released by Virgin Comics this month that was just nabbed by Summit Entertainment for film treatment. Variety reports that creator Kevin J. Walsh will pen the script with Virgin founder Gotham Chopra producing.

The Leaves is the third stand-alone title in a series Virgin is working on called “The Asura Analogues”, and follows Virulents and Eat the Dead. All the titles are retellings of the popular Hindu and Buddhist Asura demons, so check them out if you’re in the mood for something different.
