As this year's AFM rolls on, Variety reports that Studio Canal has picked up the international rights to the Yorkshire Ripper Trilogy, Red Riding, the three-part film being written by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas penner Tony Grisoni based on the novel series by David Peace.
All three films will be directed by different helmers and follow the six-year police investigation of William Suttcliffe, also known as the Yorkshire Ripper, who murdered 12 women in Northern England during the 1970’s.
Studio Canal also got the international rights to Cotton, a cinéma-vérité horror film about an evangelical minister who turns his back on religion and agrees to be documented performing his last exorcism. Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland directed, and Eli Roth produced alongside Strike Entertainment.
