Though it bores me just to write about it, we are a news site who wants to make sure you’re up to date on all the latest happenings in the genre, even if they do involve teenage vampire love.
That’d be a good name for an album … hmmmm …
Anyway, The Hollywood Reporter caught wind of a new project for Messengers starlet Kristen Stewart called Twilight, based on the best selling novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer.
Stewart will play Bella Swan, a teenager who falls in love with the mysterious Edward, who just so happens to be a vampire. When Edward’s nemesis comes to town, she’s in immediate danger because of her feelings for him. Don’t you think a vampire, assuming he’s not just a 17-year-old vampire, would want a woman with a bit more maturity on her? Of course all that young, supple flesh … sorry, starting to sound like Kryten for a second there.
Thirteen helmer Catherine Hardwicke is directing, and production is supposed to kick into gear this February. Summit Entertainment are producing, with the hopes that the success of the book series will lead to big box office and numerous sequels. Can’t say I’m hoping for the same…
