Stan Helsing Spoofs Monsters

All right, just what the horror world needs more of: spoofs. As if the Scary Movie franchise isn’t annoying enough on its own, now one of the series’ producers, Bo Zenga (pictured), is planning on spoofing monster movies, too, in Stan Helsing, according to Variety.
Specifically, the six highest-grossing monster movies of all time, so I’m guessing a bit of Dracula, The Wolf Man and Frankenstein will be in there. Stan Helsing is the story of the titular video store clerk who reluctantly is forced into saving his small town from all those cinematic beasties.
Zena will both write and direct Stan Helsing, which is expected to start shooting in April. I guess we’ll have to assume this script’s been sitting around since before the Writer’s Strike, eh? Now that it’s almost over, it’ll be interesting to see how many of these projects disappear to be replaced by “new” ones.
