Honestly, a lot of us aren't all that sure. Repo! The Genetic Opera (review) already has a good amount of positive press, so why is information on the release date being kept quiet by Lionsgate and director Darren Bousman?
The answers finally came out ... well, a good deal of reassurance did anyway. Darren's new official blog was updated with a new post from the man himself where he shot down a number of rumors that have been floating around the interweb, and it looks like all the news is fucking positive!
THERE IS NO RELEASE DATE: There is a release date - and should be announced in the next couple of weeks.
THERE IS NO TRAILER: The trailer is AMAZING!!! Come to Comic Con and see it unleashed in all its glory!
WE CAN'T HEAR ANY OF THE MUSIC: Starting in July we will start rolling tracks out for your listening pleasure!
THEY ARE NOT DOING ANY SCREENINGS: Come to Fantasia JULY 18th!!!!
Yes, Repo! is on its way; we just have to be a smidge more patient. Hell, there's a screening just next month at Fantasia for those willing to make the trip, and Darren also promises a big renovation to the flick's official site on July 1st.
