As filming rolls on in Regina, Canada for Dolan’s Cadillac, the latest Stephen King short story to get the feature film treatment, the small town’s local press are getting some one-on-one time with one of the film's leads, Christian Slater.
Stepping into the role of violent mob boss James Dolan, Slater told the Regina Leader-Post that he took the job for the chance to be in a King adaptation, "I've always been a huge fan of his and the types of things that he writes” he told the paper, "very scary, very edgy, very dark, very twisted, very intense and that's what this really presented itself as,"
Cadillac is the story of a math teacher (Wes Bentley) whose wife accidentally witnesses a mob hit and has to be taken care of. The teacher is obsessed with getting his revenge, planning a pretty inventive, if not somewhat Bug Bunn-esque, method of trapping the mob boss who ordered the hit, Dolan, in his car.
"It's been challenging, it's hot in that Caddy and it's brutal and it's emotional” Slater told of the experience, "It's painful at times but at the same time I'm not digging ditches. Of course Wes Bentley is, that's what he's doing.”
That’s Christian for ya, always remembering that someone else has it worse than him. Dolan’s Cadillac will be wrapping up its shoot in the next few weeks, so look for more updates soon!
Wonder if it'd sound a ominous if Dolan owned a Chevy in the Dread Central forums!
