Ah, I hate you Austin, TX. Yes, the entire damn city; deal with it. Why, you may ask? Because not only is it the hippest place on Earth, it’s also home to Fantastic Fest, which just announced its second wave of titles and there's some damn good stuff on here.
First up, Blair Witch co-director Eduardo Sanchez’ Seventh Moon will be making its world premiere at the festival. Moon, you may recall, finds a newlywed couple in China smack-dab in the middle of their “hungry ghosts” festival, which they soon realize may be more than just local superstition.
The fest will also host the US premieres of Acolytes, about three teens who get a killer to take out a bully making their lives hell, Deadgirl, about two teens who find the titular corpse and what happens when one of them wants to do some nasty things to it and Rule of Three (review), which focuses on two sexual encounters gone very, very wrong.
Last but not least, the world premiere of Fest 2: Sloppy Seconds will go down during the show, as well, more than likely with director and writers in attendance. See why I hate Austin now?
The week long festival kicks off on Thursday, September 18th. Be sure to hit up Fantastic Fest online to learn more and get your tickets now!
