Scream For Spike TV's Awards
We recently reported on the host and presenters for the fuse/Fangoria Chainsaw Awards (click here if you missed it), and now we have more details for you award show junkies, of which I am proudly a member, about Spike TV's Scream Awards.
Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan, and Marley Shelton -- aka the women of Grindhouse -- will be hosting the event, which is set to air Tuesday, October 10, from 10:00 PM to 12:00 midnight, ET/PT. In the words of Casey Patterson, Executive Producer and Senior Vice President of Event Production for Spike TV, "It doesn't get any cooler than the amazing women of Grind House hosting. Rosario, Rose, and Marley are an incredible way to celebrate our first year. The show promises to shock and entertain the fans and bow down to the gods of the genres."
In addition, My Chemical Romance is slated to perform "Welcome to the Black Parade," the new single from their forthcoming album The Black Parade, which will be released on October 24th. Other musical highlights include an appearance by Korn and a tribute to the "Prince of Darkness" himself, Ozzy Osbourne.
Special honors will be presented to comic book writer and artist Frank Miller and the team of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez with world premieres of "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror" to be included in the broadcast. The Scream Awards will also feature appearances by Fergie, Marilyn Manson, Eva Mendes, Saw III's Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith, Hostel's Jay Hernandez, Rob Zombie, the cast of Battlestar Galactica, Josh Duhamel, and more to be announced shortly.
Make sure you visit the Scream Awards official site to vote for your favorite nominees and enter to win a celebrity gift bag. The site is also accepting user entries for the iScreams, an online contest for original artwork, videos, and costumes -- with cash prizes for the best in show. Voting ends Friday, October 6, so make sure your voice is heard!
