Saxon, Thomerson & Barbeau Battle Warwolves

Warwolves are coming! The Sci-Fi Channel is preparing to go to war with the wolves in their upcoming werewolf flick Warwolves, and John Saxon, Tim Thomerson, and Adrienne Barbeau have already enlisted for duty.

If ever there was an actor overdue for a Tarantino-esque revival, it's John Saxon. Warwolves may not exactly be the boost his career deserves, but it's always good to see him on the screen regardless.

Despite having the likes of Nancy Thompson's dad, Jack Deth, and Swamp Thing's first squeeze in the cast, the real star of the film is also the film's writer/director, Michael Worth. Worth previously wrote and co-produced the Sci-Fi original Sasquatch Mountain (review).

The plot of Curb Entertainment's Warwolves goes a little something like this:

"Jack Ford leads a special forces unit back to the United States to hunt down Jake Gabriel, a soldier who has been infected with the werewolf virus that turns man into wolf. Little does Jack know that three of the female soldiers serving in his unit have also been infected and have already transformed into she-wolves. The she-wolves forces of evil and Fords special op forces of good are pitted against each other in the race to save mankind from turning into wolves."

Judging by what I've seen in the film's teaser trailer (below), I can't say I'm much of a fan of the werewolf design. I've personally never been too keen on the more minimalistic lycanthrope approach myself.

No airdate has been announced yet; most likely you can expect to see Warwolves on Sci-Fi sometime next year.
