Saw Videogame: Jigsaw Ready to Play at Home

Saw Game Coming Soon! (click for larger image)Guess what you're going to be doing in October of 2009 other than going to see the sixth and "final" installment of the Saw series and double dipping for the Saw V Uber-unrated Director's Cut Two-Disc Mega Edition DVD? Firing up your next-gen console with Jigsaw, that's what!

That's right, kids. The bloody mayhem that left you mostly confused in theaters is set to make its way home on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in just a couple of short years. Developed by Brash Entertainment and built on the Unreal 3 engine, the game promises to stay true to the film franchise while delivering a unique storyline and even answering some long-lingering questions that have intrigued viewers for years. Who knows; maybe we'll finally get to see what was written in Amanda's note.

In a great move on their part, Brash is working closely with Lionsgate and franchise creators Leigh Whannell and James Wan. Considering most movie licenced games suck, at least the folks at Brash are trying to make good on their mission statement of creating high quality theatrical based games by heading right to the source material.

Keep it here for more as we get it!

Six movies of "Saw"? For me, only the first two really works. The third, was like a lame end for the trilogy... but six? Without the original Jigsaw? I think they show more blood, more traps, and the explanaiton of how Billy the Doll became bald...

Gee, I wonder what the tagline will be...

That said, this is a GREAT idea! Saw would make a better video game than a movie anyway. Imagine a first-person adventure game where you're stuck in Jigsaw's house of horrors and forced to play his games.

Would rather see Starbreeze Studios do this one though.
