Romero Sent to a Solitary Isle

Romero signs on for Solitary IsleSo who would’ve suspected that the next film we’d be announcing George A. Romero being attached to would be an adaptation of a story by The Ring and Dark Water scribe Koji Suzuki? Yeah, I sure didn’t see this one coming, either.

Nevertheless, The Hollywood Reporter has the story that Romero will write and direct the film Solitary Isle, the first in a series of films being produced as a 50/50 deal between Hyde Park Entertainment and Kadokawa Pictures.

Solitary Isle is the story of an expedition to a supposedly deserted island that turns deadly when the explorers face an unknown force. Monsters? Wild turkeys? Their own psyches? Who knows, the point is that Romero is back doing what he loves to do, direct, and hopefully this will lead to yet more bigger and better things.

More as we get it!
