Rocky Horror Remake

Rocky Horor RemakeNow this might go down in history as one of the worst ideas in Hollywood history; remaking The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I mean, seriously, is this necessary? The original has been annoying me since it was released in 1975, why do we need another take on it?

Nevertheless, Variety reports that original executive producer Lou Adler is teaming up with BermanBraun and Fox TV to make it happen. The Rocky Horror redux will utilize the same script as the original, but may feature some new songs. No word on who will direct or star yet.

The hope, Adler tells the trade, is to have this new version of Rocky done in time for Halloween of next year. I guess as long as no one out there gets the bright idea to do live re-enactments of this version on Saturdays at midnight across the country, it may not be so bad...

Rocky Horror does NOT need to be remade. The original was perfect for a great time. It's one of my favorite movies. I realize that I'm in the minority here...but that's where I normally stand anyway...LOL. All of a sudden I feel like Samuel L. Jackson:

I'm TIRED TIRED TIRED of these MOTHERFUCKIN' REMAKES on this MOTHERFUCKIN' SCREEN!

I've never seen Time Warp at the local gay bars. It's always this techno headache music that rattle your teeth it's so loud.

Remake Rocky Horror? Why? Let's face it, the movie wasn't good. It was fun enough and I do like the soundtrack but not good. In that regard remaking it isn't a bad idea. But the original stage version at least represented it's time and what was then a little daring (although really just mildly naughty even in those days). It would be like remaking the Follies of '29. It was the product of an era. Besides the only really noteworthy thing about it was the movie causing a reaction no one could have predicted and can't be replicated by trying. I guess you could try to go nuts and attempt to hit a nerve or two by pushing some boundries with your audience if you really felt you needed to remake it.

Although I would hope someone could come up with a good, fun musical someday that wasn't based on a fucking movie. I'm getting a little tired of that.

If you want to see trannies singing and dancing to the "Time Warp", pop down to your local gay bar this weekend...

We don't need an 'updated' RHPS!!!

I remember the last purposed remake. Frank was supposed to be a cosmetic surgeon living in some high rise. It sounded like total suck.

Wait... why does Rocky Horror need to be remade?

Because, Kryten.

Because.

I want to hit the Go 2 Sleep on every suit in Hollywood right now.

It was good for a laugh, but I can't see anyone wanting a remake. All the fun is going to the midnight show and watching all the "freaks" dancing and singing. If you've never been, it's highly recomemded.
As a personal note, my favorite part of the whole movie is near the end when the redhead (forgot her name) is dancing around and her boobs are bouncing out of her corset. She's a cutie.

Wow, using the original script? That's a GREAT idea!

This P.O.S. would benefit from a total rewrite. Actually, we would all benefit if they flushed this idea down the toilet.

I mean, the original sucks, and the only people they're trying to service by using the original script are the hardcore fans...but the hardcore fans won't want a remake in the first place!
