Rocco Finds Killer Inside

Though something tells me the elements of this story that make it work hinge more on the dramatic aspects rather than horror, the plot for the new film from Marc Rocco (Murder in the First, pictured) sounds too juicy to let slip past.

The film is called The Killer Inside Me, based on the 1952 Jim Thompson novel of the same name. The story follows a deputy sheriff in West Texas who is a friend to everyone, seemingly trustworthy and upstanding, but beneath his calm demeanor is a psychotic madman.

Considering the source material was written in 1952, we can expect some significant changes to the overall tale, but Rocco’s enjoying that aspect of the script, telling the folks at Variety, “We will put him into a post-9/11 world, and one interesting layer to the script is how much technology has changed the definition of a small town.”

A fall start is expected for The Killer Inside Me; look for more on the film soon!
