Repo! The Musical DVD in January!

Ogre will be pleased! The news is already coming in from this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and the first article via the event involves Darren Bousman's much anticipated Repo! The Genetic Opera (review)!

We've known for a bit now that the film is getting a possible limited release in November, but details on the DVD were kept quiet. That was until STYD got the lowdown at the Con. Turns out that January '09 is the designated month for the horror-themed rock opera to hit stores around the nation. No word yet on special features, but I doubt this is going to be bare bones.

Repo! takes place in a dark future where a plague has caused world wide organ failure. The only way to stay alive is to take out a loan and purchase some new body parts. Be careful; if you miss a payment, the Repoman will come to reclaim your new vitals!

Dang it! I want to see this in the theater!

Is this another Lionsgate distribution issue?

I'd walk to another state to see this in theaters but it's great to finally hear about the dvd release.

It really needs to be seen in a theater if you can swing it.

Oh, believe me, I'll find a way to see it on the big screen. If I have to drive halfway across the damn country, I'll do it.
