Reese Gets Dark
Variety got word this morning that Reese Witherspoon, sweet, pretty, innocent Reese, is getting into darker and darker territory through her production house, Type A Films.
First up, it was announced that Reese will be producing and possibly starring in an adaptation of Rebecca Godfrey’s true-crime story Under the Bridge, which deals with the brutal murder of a high school student in a small British Columbian town and the investigation that follows. Catherine (Thirteen) Hardwicke is in talks to direct.
The trade also makes mention that Witherspoon will star in another Type A film, Our Family Trouble, which we originally told you about back here when it had been retitled from Our Family Trouble to Bell Witch, working from a script by Don Winston. We first mentioned it because Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror remake) had been tapped to write it, but apparently that’s changed along with the title.
Family is set up at Universal, while Under the Bridge is studio-less for the time being.
