Ready for X-Fidos?

I am not sure why we really haven't been following the developments as far as the X-Files film is concerned. Maybe I'm the only fan of the former Fox show or the news just hasn't been interesting ... until today.

The Hollywood Reporter printed a story today saying rapper & Pimp My Ride host Xzibit will be joining Amanda Peet and Fido's Billy Connolly in the upcoming X-Files feature film. Peet and Xzibit will be playing FBI alongside Mulder and Scully, but Connolly's role was not mentioned.

Peet and Xzibit sound like an odd mix to put next to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. With the plot being kept super secret it's hard to guess at the nature of these new characters, but after all the odd decisions we've seen made in Hollywood over this past year alone ... I am a little scared. Fox should know better than to stick a wacky sidekick or romantic subplot into this film, right?
