Raimi to Bring Us Monster Zoo

Monster Zoo is on it's way to theatersIs it just me or are we doing more and more stories about original stuff getting the greenlight in Hollywood these days? After the glut of remakes it sure is nice to report on stuff like Monster Zoo, a title that just makes me smile on general principal.

Variety reports this morning that Paramount has nabbed the feature rights for Monster Zoo, a graphic novel from Douglas TenNapel that will be out from Image Comics this Spring. Buckaroo Entertainment’s Sam Raimi and Josh Donen are producing but I have a question; what the hell is Buckaroo Entertainment?

Anyway, TenNapel is the creator of Earthworm Jim, which is all the info I need to want to see this made yesterday. Monster Zoo will be the story of a kid who discovers that his local zoo contains a much broader range of creatures than most...

You can click here to get Monster Zoo through Evilshop now; we’ll be following this one as it develops so stay tuned for more soon!

NEXT STORY

Speaking of Sam Raimi, what's with the lack of coverage on the recent news bit for "Drag Me To Hell"? Justin Long was cast and considering the mixed response to said casting online, I was interested to hear what the Dread Central staff and readers had to say about it. What gives?
