Damn, when the news rains it pours coming out of the open wounds over at Fangoria Comics. I just thank whatever Old Ones that are in control of such things that we don’t have the limitations we did at the “old place”, where we were forbade to even speak the name of Fango, let alone report on ’em.

The Fangoria Comics section over at Comic Monsters just got a huge update from editor Scott Licina with lots and lots of brand-new stuff either announced or promised for announcement at this weekend’s Weekend of Horrors.

The Rage (click for a larger view)First up, Robert Kurtzman has nailed down his next directorial gig (following The Rage and Buried Alive), a film called Bump. It comes from a script by Mark Kidwell, a script Kurtzman said he could absolutely not put down when he read it, calling it a “horrifiyingly visceral, supernatural tale of terror” Sounds pretty damn good to me! The tagline for the flick is “a ghost story … with teeth!” and with Kurtzman on board I’m sure it will live up to that promise!

In other Kurtzman news, the column also announced that Fangoria Comics will be putting out a 4-issue prequel for Kurtzman’s film The Rage, which will delve into the backstory of the virus Andrew Divoff’s character creates in the film. The comic is referred to as “an over-the-top, $100 million dollar, big budget grindhouse comic written by the films co-creator and screenwriter John Bisson” That’s some textual music to my bleeding ears!

Check out the full update right here for more good stuff, and keep your eyeballs glued to Dread Central as more announcements come in over the course of the Weekend of Horrors!
