Proyas Talks Dracula: Year Zero Status
Whatever Alex Proyas does next, I hope he got the whole “working with Nicolas Cage” thing out of his system. There’s nothing worse than wanting to be excited for a film (in this case Knowing) but not being able to because of its star.
So if he’s working on Dracula: Year Zero, hopefully there won’t be any Cages present. ”In the case of Dracula, the reason I got excited about the project is I read a particular script that puts the whole legend on its head in every conceivable way,” Proyas told STYD in a recent interview. ”[It] comes out with something that is both kind of an ode to Bram Stoker's original Dracula, in that it's kind of a prequel to that, but it also redefines the character to such an extent that I found it quite exciting, so that is very much a kind of reinvention of that character and it's why I got excited about it."
I know I’m behind whatever the man does, bad choice in leads notwithstanding, so hopefully this project will get off the ground soon. Keep it here for more Dracula: Year Zero updates as it comes to life!

A whole bunch of films have been granted ratings recently, among them a film or two I’m surprised took this long to settle on a letter for.

> means more than, < means less than. Think of it how I was taught it by an elementary school teacher... think of the symbol as the mouth of an alligator, and it eats the item that is more than.
I can't say I really care for Knowing (although I have to look up the news about Cage and the director having problems), but I probably would watch a Cage movie before I would one from Will Smith, but most of the time it's because I don't care for the type of movies that Will is in, while most of the time I can at least laugh at most of the movies Nic Cage appears in.

When he has a decent script and director (such as in Adaptation), Cage is golden. He just needs to be a little more selective.

Is that greater than or less than? I can never remember. Smith is better than Cage by MILES.
