Prom Director on Stepfather
Wow, from one unneeded 80’s horror remake to another; Nelson McCormick must be on top of the world. I just hope he’s wearing his Members Only jacket.
Daily Variety announced today that McCormick has signed on to helm Screen Gem’s remake of the 1987 suburban horror flick, The Stepfather, which starred Terry O’Quinn of (recent) “Lost” fame as a serial killer who posses as a normal guy to obliterate families from the inside out.
Though I have no particular issue with a remake of The Stepfather, it sure is going to be hard to find someone as charismatically evil as O’Quinn was back in the day. Of course, he’s still working actively so maybe he will be back… Hmmmm….
The other remake McCormick helmed was Prom Night, by the by, which is scheduled to drop on April 11th, 2008.
