Well hot damn! I actually beat Butane at updating the site! Happy Independence Day, everyone! Let us celebrate meat, trains and murder!
This week Lakeshore Records opened up the official MySpace for a certain movie involving Vinnie Jones as a well dressed psychotic butcher who loves taking advantage of public transportation. Doesn't riding the subway make most of us want to kill? I think he's pretty well justified.
Visitors to the Midnight Meat Train page will have access to full previews of six out of the fourteen songs on the official soundtrack. I can't remember the last time I actually purchased a movie's CD, but this warranted an instant purchase. Check out the tracklist below!
Midnight Meat Train, adapted from one of Clive Barker's short stories and directed by Ryuhei Kitamura, will be playing this year at Fantasia ... but its theatrical release will only see 100 theatres on August 1st. How can you change this? Click here to find out how!

Say what you will about me...I would nail a whole mess of Suicide Girls if I had a shot.

Awwww dude I aint madatcha! :) Hence the "LOL"
But I am serious about hackneyed fucked-up payola soundtracks featuring shitty flash-in-the-pan bands whose big aspiration is to get on the next version of Guitar Hero and then maybe just maybe if the Hot Topic God smiles on them jump on a 12 band package tour headlined by AFI.
Sorry, but this gets me riled. It's also fucked up a LOT of good movies.
And buying these types of ost's is like shopping at Wal Mart...it's just bad!

No need to take that tone, B.

C'mon man, do I need to send someone some CD's worth listening to?

Three Dot Revolution? Slvtn? Breaking The Jar?
Give me a break! LOL.
Sorry, but this soundtrack CD (as with MOST ost's featuring bands) reeks of cross promotion desperation. HINT: ost's compiled of the sponsoring record companies bands' latest output (or "classic" output for that matter) TEND TO SUCK. It dates the film for one. For two, ill-fitting places in the film need to be found to put a blip of whatever song into the film itself. ALL simply for product placement and a platform for gaudy cross promo as I said before.
Boycott this crap, and keep commercials for shitty albums OUT of our horror movies.

There are two different Midnight Meat Train CDs coming out on July 22 from Lakeshore Records. Blockbuster, the score CD is the one that uses the superior teaser poster cover art with the hooks and the blood on the subway. Robert Williamson and Johannes Kobilke's score is also available to download from Amazon right now. It's got a real nice 80's synth vibe to it.
Kitamura originally tried to get Tangerine Dream back together to do the Midnight Meat Train soundtrack, but it sounds like Williamson and Kobilke did a good job anyway.

I wonder if it will have a film score soundtrack...I love those. If you don't know what I'm talking about track down the scores from Hellraiser I and II and my personal favorite: Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives score. Simply amazing.
