Poltergeist Redux Nabs Helmer?

Vadim Perelman approaching PoltergeistWell, it sounds like the new Poltergeist is very close to having itself a new director: House of Sand & Fog helmer Vadim Perelman, or so reports the folks at THR this morning.

The possibility first reared its head in the pages of B-D last week, and now confirmation is coming down that Perelman is, indeed, in talks to take over the remake of Tobe Hooper’s suburban ghost story. Juliet Snowden and Stiles White have scripting duties, as we’ve mentioned recently.

Perelman was at one point attached to The Talisman, the forever-in-development adaptation of the Stephen King/Peter Straub novel, but like all things involving that potential film, nothing ever came of it. Hopefully we’ll be hearing more about what we can expect different from the new Poltergeist very soon!
