Pizzaman is Serious Horror
Man, what a strange bit of news this is for a Monday morning; Mel Brooks is working on a serious horror movie.
I'll just let that sink in for a minute.
A story in today's THR has Brooks shooting down rumors that his 30-year-old production shingle Brooksfilms may be shutting down for good, a rumor that was started by a New York gossip page. Nice work. Instead, he's working on a serious horror film called Pizzaman (?) with writing collaborators Rudy DeLuca and Steve Haberman.
He wouldn't give details as to what the film was about, only that it's still in the rewrite stage and hasn't been shopped out to studios. It's going to be pretty hard to take a film called Pizzaman seriously, so I really hope they come up with a new title first and foremost. Keep it here for updates as we get 'em!
Discuss how pizza men could be scary in the Dread Central forums!

It's been almost a year since it was first announced that Johnny Depp was working on bringing the 1960's supernatural soap opera "Dark Shadows" to the big screen, and since that announcement all has been very quiet about the project.

Yeah, I thought that was wierd too, until I found out that Brooksfilm was the company behind the remake of The Fly and The Fly II. Mel Brooks wanted to have The Elephant Man made and created the production company for fear that people would think since it's a Mel Brooks movie, it must be a comedy. (Haha, I just read this like 2 minutes ago)

I love that picture.
Anyways, I'm intrigued to see if this involves his son Max in any way.
