Paramount Focusing on Details
Uh-oh. Paramount is looking into making an original horror film under their Paramount Vantage line. We all know how great they treat the titles they have for DVD releases so I worry about what one of their actual films will turn out like.
The flick will be called Details and is based on a story by China Mieville about a girl who uncovers a demonic force only she can see and the father who will stop at nothing to bring her back when she disappears. Apparently the focus of the story is around the psychological phenomenon called pareiodlia, in which the human mind perceives there to be an aspect of human or demonic persona in objects where there is none. A good example is the man in the moon or the face on Mars.
Jason Blum, who from what I could discern has no genre credits to his name, will produce under his Blumhouse Productions from the script penned by Dan Kay. We’ll have more for you as production gets closer, but if you’re curious, you can click here to get the China Mieville book that features the original story.
