New Raw Feed Flicks Planned

New Raw Feed titles plannedA little over a year ago the first batch of Raw Feed movies were announced, a trio of films directed by relative newcomers that would be put out directly to DVD, and now that we’re approaching the third and final release in the series, Dan Myrick’s Believers (review), the guys behind it are getting ready to do it all over again.

Variety reports that Myrick, former "X-Files" producer John Shiban and "24" producer Tony Krantz are working on three new films for production under the Raw Feed label, though Shiban is the only one looking to return to direct. The three movies are Alice’s Apartment, described as a thriller more than horror; Supermarket, which will have serious leanings towards sci-fi; and Otis, the only straight-up horror film of the bunch. The search for writers is underway and they’re hoping to start up production by this summer.

While the goal is ultimately to put out about 4 movies a year under the Raw Feed label, it’s good to see they’re taking their time and developing the films, rather than rushing them immediately into production.

Of the first batch of films, Warners reports that not only is Rest Stop the best selling, it’s also the biggest selling home video original in the company’s history. So the plan to get new, fresh horror out there is working! Of course that means a Rest Stop 2 is in the works, with an eye towards a theatrical release. That just seems odd to me, but I guess they're always looking to make just a bit more money than before, right?
