New Orphanage Pics

New pics from El Orfanato! We just got a heads up from a reader named Emilio about a slew of new pics from Juan Antonio Bayona’s El Orfanato (aka The Orphanage) that just showed up over on Aullidos, one of which you can see to your right.

Title sound familiar? It should; Guillermo del Toro is producing the film and Picturehouse, who released del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth theatrically, recently scooped up the film for US distro. El Orfanato tells of a woman who spent the best years of hear life in a seaside orphanage (now that’s rare), so now that she’s all grown up she wants to restore it and give more kids the chances she had.

Along with her is husband Carlos and son Simon. The strange new place awakens parts of Simon’s imagination no one knew he had before, and pretty soon more and more ominous things go on around him. As the opening day of the orphanage approaches, it’s up to Laura to determine whether it’s all the imagination of Simon or something much more sinister.

Check out the new pics here and here. El Orfanato is set for release in its native Spain this Fall, look for Picturehouse to announce a US date very soon!
