After some serious doubt as to whether or not it would make its return to our brothers to the North, the Montreal World Film Festival is getting ready for its big comeback, running August 23rd-September 3rd this year. Why the hell do you care? Because of their new Midnight Slam! Series, which focuses on our beloved genre.
So far the films that have been announced are the Angela Bettis-starring 3D horror film Scar, Brett (Ginger Snaps 2) Sullivan’s The Chair, the Italian throwback Last House in the Woods, the Russian horror entry Dead Daughters and, probably biggest of all for the festival, Rob Zombie’s Halloween (speaking of which, check out our new Halloween video interviews!).
Not a bad lineup at all… Too bad, if the title is any indication, that they’re relegating it all to post-midnight screenings.
