Monsters Vs. Aliens Video Game Coming in March
Activision has just announced a new game based upon the new Dreamworks Animation 3D film Monsters Vs. Aliens. The film itself, due out in March of 2009, is a comedic homage to the classic 50's monster movie which pits a gang of misfit terrestrial monsters against an unstoppable alien force. The game version allows players to take up the same challenge by playing a wide assortment of monstrous misfits to defend the planet against a powerful menace from outer space.
The playable monstrous incarnations will all have different strengths, weaknesses, characteristics, and personalities. To battle the alien scourge, players will be able to play as The Missing Link, the macho half-ape, half-fish; the gelatinous, indestructible and always hungry B.O.B.; Ginormica, the 49-foot-11-inch tall woman and Insectosaurus, the 350-foot tall grub. In the game’s cooperative mode, friends or family members can also join in as the brilliant mad scientist Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.
The new Monsters vs. Aliens game is slated to be released in the same timeline as the film, in March of 2009. The console spread is wide with this one, and is planned to be available for Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS and PC.
