Monsters Get Home Sick
Wow, remember Home Sick? The little indie film starring Tom Towles, Tiffany Shepis, and Bill Moseley that was made by some crazy kids from backwater Alabama, one of whom used to contribute to our old site quite a bit?
Well, it’s all right if you don’t cause Home Sick remembers you. The film, about a salesman who unleashes a superhuman killer on a group of kids in a small town, has been in the hands of Synapse Films, who offered to finish up the cut and release it on their label when it was done, for a few years now. It’s been quiet for a while, but today we got some good news.
Progress has been made! Screenwriter Evan Katz dropped us a line with the announcement that Home Sick will have a special screening at the upcoming Monsters Among Robots festival on September 17th with both Katz and director Adam Wingard onhand for a Q&A afterwards.
We’ll have more details as they come in, but for now you can get more info about the convention at its official site.

Though it’s been in place for a while, the Toronto International Film Festival gets rolling on September 7th, and I thought that now would be the perfect time to remind all you lucky bastards who are going, as well as those unlucky among us who are not, about their lineup for Midnight Madness. This year the genre-centered portion of the show has got some fantastic titles showing up including: Bong Joon-ho’s highly anticipated monster romp The Host (September 8th)
