Meet Ruins Director Carter Smith
While it was no Prom Night, Carter Smith’s The Ruins was an effective little flick with a nice smattering of good old fashioned gore. If only a few more people would have checked it out in the theaters.
If you happened to catch The Ruins (review here) and liked it as much as we did, Monday will provide you with a chance to dig a bit deeper into the film. On April 28th Carter Smith will be making an appearance at Edinboro University of PA to show his first short film: Bugcrush (review here).
Carter will also be bringing along a whole bushel basket of Ruins goodies to share with fans of the film including six deleted scenes. Two of these scenes are alternate endings to the film. Add forty minutes of behind-the-scenes footage, and you have one bad-ass botanical bonanza.
An Evening with Carter Smith is part of the Edinboro Film Series and is sponsored by the Eerie Horror Film Festival, SGA, and PA Partners in the Arts. The festivities begin at 8:30 pm and will take place in the Louis C. Cole Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased by visiting here. For more information or to order by phone, please call 814-732-1048.
