McShane's on the Case

There’s been some hype slowly building for Paramount’s upcoming Case 39, though whether it's because of or in spite of the presence of Renée Zellweger I’ve yet to determine.

Said hype (and most likely a solid script) was enough to get "Deadwood" star Ian McShane to agree to sign on according to Variety. McShane will play a police officer who helps Zellweger’s character figure out the truth when she saves a girl from what she believes is an abusive home life only to discover that things are not quite as clear as they first seem. Evil may have something to do with it...obviously, or we wouldn't mention it.

Antibodies director Christian Alvart is behind the camera for Case 39, which is set to roll in Vancouver this summer.
