Just the other day we gave you guys the first casting news for Anagram Pictures’ The Thaw, a good sign that progress on the film was moving along quickly. We just received further confirmation of this in the form of a press release announcing that The Thaw will see Canadian distribution through Maple Pictures!
Shooting on the eco-horror film, about a group of students trying to stop an ancient parasite from spreading after a woolly mammoth is thawed out, will kick off its five-week run on June 16th in Williams Lake and Vancouver, British Columbia. Martha MacIssac (pictured) is in the lead role of Evelyn Kruipen, while Val Kilmer has a smaller role as her father, Dr. David Kruipen.
Along with Maple, the Vancouver production company Brightlight Pictures will be helping out the film with Voltage Pictures handling all international sales. Be sure to check out our previous Thaw story for more details on the film from its director, Mark A. Lewis!
