Maid Director Delivers Rule #1
A new project for The Maid (DVD review) director Kelvin Tong was announced today over at Twitch Film and, if nothing else, it sounds a helluva lot more interesting than The Maid was...
The flick is called Rule #1 and stars Shawn Yue as rookie cop Lee, who gets injured during a shootout and reassigned to MAD, Miscellaneous Affairs Department. There, he meets Inspector Wong (Ekin Cheng, pictured) who explains that MAD’s reason for existence is to investigate supernatural claims. And what is their rule #1? There are no ghosts; all seemingly supernatural occurrences have scientific explanations.
Together Wong and Lee begin looking into a string of seemingly impossible teen suicides, which eventually leads them to question rule #1 when they realize something seriously evil is heading their way.
Rule #1 will see release in Malaysia on May 13th, but as for other countries we’re still in the dark. Hopefully the offbeat premise will pay off better than The Maid did. We’ll let you know more soon!
