Lussier to Helm Condition Dead

Talk about a freaking wake-up call, wow! Some history, if you will...

Way back when I started this whole horror writing gig, I was working under the umbrella of CHUD.com. Shortly before I joined their team, another writer had come on board as well, a man named Dave Davis. When I moved out to Boston a few years back Dave, my now wife, and I got to be pretty good friends I’m happy to say. It seems like the whole time I’ve known him, all the kid has wanted to do is see his action-packed zombie script Condition Dead made into a movie.

Now I’m running this madhouse and he’s working for JoBlo, and finally his hopes are coming to fruition. This morning I got a press release announcing that Tyrese Gibson (pictured, Waist Deep, The Transformers) will produce and Patirck Lussier (White Noise: The Light, Dracula 2000) will direct Condition Dead, working from the script by Dave Davis.

Condition Dead centers around an elite government team of zombie hunters who, while out on what they believe will be a typical smash-and-run mission, are ambushed by a new breed of the undead and forced to find new ways to fight back.

Expect to be hearing a lot more about this one in the coming months as we tap the hell out of Davis for information, and keep an eye on his writing over at JoBlo as well!
