Lionsgate Behind Masters 3!

Some confirmation on the new Masters of Horror season has finally come down via Fangoria Radio last night when Mick Garris was a guest on the show. He finally made a public announcement that Lionsgate are behind Season 3 the show, and are currently looking at various networks to host it (perhaps the co-owned Fearnet is being considered?). Though it was the number 2 rated show on Showtime, apparently they just didn’t have enough faith in it for the long run.
The plan for Masters Season 3 will remain the same, with great horror directors tackling horror scripts, though we’ve heard talk that instead of choosing between available screenplays, the directors who are approached will be invited to bring stories they’d like to direct to the table. No confirmation of this was made, but we can hope!
In addition to this good news, Mick also revealed that he’s working on various new King projects, including adaptations of Bag of Bones (with “Pelts” screenwriter Matt Veene handling penning duties) for him to produce and direct, From a Buick 8 for Tobe Hooper to direct (this project was originally going to be a new Romero movie) and Gerald’s Game, which Garris said is his favorite of King’s work.
On top of that he’s also trying to get Masters to the big screen, similar to the Tales From the Crypt approach as opposed to an anthology, and shopping around an original ghost story called simply Dead.
