Lightning Boards Shark Movie The Reef
Though very few got up and shouted about the greatness of Black Water (DVD review) when it was released a few months back, the reviews were pretty even across the board, at least the ones I read. So now director Andrew Traucki is reteaming with producer Michael Robertson to bring us The Reef, and THR reports that Lightning Entertainment has just signed on to executive produce as well.
The film will follow a group of friends sailing through the Great Barrier Reef whose boat capsizes, leaving them stranded and pursued by an 18-foot great white shark, hunting outside his normal habitat, taking down the friends one at a time.
It seems like any sort of survivalist horror film that takes place in Australia has to be based on a true story in one form or another, and The Reef is no exception. Shooting will kick into gear this March, so stay tuned for updates as we get them!

That sound awesome. I loved it the first time around when it was called Jaws 2.
