Labyrinth Gets UK DVD
Now that Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth (review) is pretty much playing everywhere, there’s really no reason for you to keep missing out on this brilliant slice of filmmaking. It’s been nominated for six Oscars, for God’s sake, and it’s one of the few films I’ve seen on an Oscar list that actually deserves them all.
If, however, you just cannot get yourself to theaters (and you have a region-free player, which every self-respecting horror fan should), you can wait for Optimum Home Entertainment’s 2-disc Pan’s Labyrinth Region 2 DVD, which hits UK shelves on March 12th, 2007. Davis DVD reports that the features on this disc will include commentary tracks, making-of featurettes, a prologue from del Toro, his notebooks, storyboard-to-film comparisons and a ton more.
Also set for release on the 12th in the UK is The Guillermo del Toro Collection, which will feature Cronos, The Devil’s Backbone and Pan’s Labyrinth. Cronos will have commentary and a making-of featurett whereas Backbone will feature a brand-new commentary and other goodies.
Praise the man's work in our forums!
