Jumping Sarandon's Bones

If you're like me, you remember Peter Jackson's good old days. While the Rings trilogy is an epic piece of filmmaking, I still prefer the time he spent piling on the red stuff with Bad Taste and Dead Alive (aka Brain Dead for you purists out there).

News about his latest non-horror project The Lovely Bones has been breaking left and right, and Variety is now reporting that Susan Sarandon has joined the cast along with Rachel Weisz, Ryan Gosling and newcomer Saoirse Ronan. They also reported that Stanley Tucci is closing in on the role of the film's murderous bastard.

In case you're unfamiliar with the project, the story revolves around a young girl who watches over her family -- and killer -- from heaven. Sarandon will play the grandmother who comes to live with the family after the girl's murder.

Now that's what I call a gilf!
