Job poster (click to see it bigger!)It’s been a while since we’ve heard much about the religious-themed horror film Job (a new poster for which you can see to the right) that’s being helmed by Pit of Horror webmaster John Gray and produced by Sin-Jim Smyth’s Ethan Dettenmaier, but that’s because they’ve been closing the deal on just who will play the lead character.

Today we got word that the decision has been made, and it’s going to make a lot of fans happy. Billy Moseley, Michael Pare, and Joe Knetter have all signed on for the film, but who will play Job himself? “We have had much speculation over the past few months, and people have talked about everyone from Andrew Bryniarski to Michael Bailey Smith playing Job (both were in talks at one point). However, in the end we have decided to cast Jonathan Davis from Korn as the killer!” Gray told Dread Central. “With Jonathan’s background, it just seemed to fit well, given the nature of the storyline. We are also recently in talks with genre greats Michael Berryman, Bill Johnson, Gunnar Hansen, and Leslie Easterbrook. So the cast should be filling out quite nicely over the next few weeks.”

Davis, you probably recall, also plays the titular role of Sin-Jin Smyth, so I guess the casting isn’t terribly surprising, but it’s still incredibly cool nonetheless. Shooting on Job is set to start up in December, and needless to say Grey’s a bit apprehensive. “I’m very excited, but I’m really nervous at the same time. I respect all of these people so much! It’s a dream come true,” he explained. “We’re working with the best of the best, and I am so excited to see what the fans think once it’s all said and done. I just hope I can live up to my own expectations … and that’s a pretty tough order to fill!”

We’ll of course have a ton more information as it comes in so stay tuned!
