Jeepers 3 Confirmed

Jeepers 3 is on its waySome of you may be thrilled, some of you may be disgusted, some of you won’t give a shit, but it seems a third Jeepers Creepers movie is, indeed, in the works.

STYD got confirmation through various reliable sources of the news, which Bloody Disgusting had posted during the AFM madness but without anything solid behind it. No word on what Jeepers Creepers 3 will be about, but STYD did verify that series creator Victor Salva will both write and direct the third movie and that it may pave the way for a TV series Salva’s working on with MGM and Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope.

Hopefully the sequel will follow the concept put out there while the second film was being made: a prequel set in the old West in which we learn how the Creeper got his wings, among other things. The fact is, though, we’ve only seen about four days of the monster’s 23-day feeding cycle, so the possibilities for more entries are without limit.

As long as they avoid any mysterious black lady/ghost of former victim who can inform the Creeper’s new prey of exactly what is going on (is mystery such a bad thing?), I’ll be happy. More monsters are never a bad thing!

I definitely agree that the first half. Even the first hour of JC1 was a pretty great little film. The last 30 minutes where a little redundant, and the movie went in a direction that I didn't want it to. The second one was just a continuation of the last half of Jeepers Creepers that I really didn't care for. I hated JC2. But, because I liked that first little hour I will be waiting for this. Hoping that it won't suck.

Agreed Woman In Black...without Breck it just won't be the same at all. I actually really like the JC flicks (and POWDER believe it or not, which plays like an X-FILES episode with more depth than usual, to me) but that ugly subject of Silva's past (and is it really ever "past"? me thinks not)is a stain that can never be removed and it will follow this.

But truth be told and looking at art strictly for art's sake...I actually think the JC films are really underrated. Both of 'em.

Agreed. That would be bad if they didn't get him back, he owned the role...

I rather liked JC2. My main concern about JC3 is that Breck apparently won't be back as the Creeper. I prefer consistency with my monsters.

I heard that JC2 sucked... I have yet to see it (note to self: must use my free Non-NR rental coupon to do that someday)! I also thought JC1 was great for the first half, but a bit iffy in the second half. From the way you write JB - yes, the franchise has a lot of potential - but has Victor Salva got the vision and ability to take it in a direction where we feel compelled to see the rest of the Creeper's 23 day feeding activity?
