Introducing The Minions of Ka!

Minions of Ka!For the last few months we here at Dread Central have been working with a group of incredibly talented writers and artists on a new project that we hope is going to change the way the horror community thinks about the undead.

No, it’s not a Zombies Anonymous group, though that would be cool; it’s a project called Minions of Ka. We talked about it last week when we pointed you guys to the trailer that’s up on YouTube, but now we've been cleared to give you even more.

The Minions of Ka graphic novel was created by David Wilbur, Michael Furno and Michael Ahern in conjunction with Silent Devil Productions and Arcana Distribution. The internal art was handled by Chris Moreno, who has done work on titles like World War Hulk, Front Line, Super Frat and Teddy Scares, and the cover was done by comic legend Ken Kelly (Heavy Metal, two early KISS covers). The 128-page book tells an epic story that we hope will give new life to the undead. From the forthcoming press release:

The Minions of Ka have commanded the undead for thousands of years. Their power has been used to create and destroy empires. In possession of this great power, The Catholic Church has their sights set on the throne of Charles II. An unnamed warrior for hire finds himself caught between the Church and the English Monarchy in one of the greatest conspiracies of all time.

We’ll be kicking things off for Minions of Ka in some serious style: an exclusive story set in the Minions universe penned by the one and only Jack Ketchum! Titled “The Western Dead”, this grim tale will help to fill you in on some history as to how the power of Ka began to take hold of the world and perhaps shed some light on just how far-reaching its effect will be.

Look for Jack Ketchum’s “The Western Dead” only on Dread Central staring Monday, July 14th, and keep your eyeballs open for news on a massive online game called Project Outbreak: Track the Strain that will tie into the Minions universe and allow every single horror fan a chance to lead their own army of the dead!

Stay alert! More info is coming very soon!

Ken Kelly only did two KISS covers (Destroyer and Love Gun)

Sounds like a neat-o project man.
