Horror Gets Inked
It’s about damn time someone made a horror film about tattoo artists. Those guys are just weird.
I kid, of course. Sporting my own half-sleeve, I can say with some authority that tattoo artists are the coolest, but someone is finally making a horror film set in the world of tattoo artistry. It’s called Ink and will mark the first genre film from the specialty division of Paramount, Paramount Vantage, whose recent output includes Black Snake Moan and Year of the Dog.
The details on the script are being kept under wraps, though The Hollywood Reporter was able to reveal that Ink is based off a spec script by Stir of Echoes: The Homecoming director Harris Wilkinson. Amy Israel, head of acquisitions for Vantage, also revealed that Ink will be an "original take on the horror genre (that) is hugely exciting."
Of course we all have our definition of what "hugely exciting" is, but the very concept of it having to do with tattoos is enough to keep me interested. I’m a simple guy, really.
