If you’re going to make a video game where the player will take on the role of a slasher, which I have to say it’s about goddamn time someone is finally doing, who better to play said slasher than Jason Voorhees himself, Kane Hodder?
At the recent Weekend of Horrors in Austin, TX, Hodder told the Fangoria crew that he was in the midst of doing motion-capture for a new video game. ”The game will be developed over the next year and half,” Hodder explained, ”I’m involved in creating the story and the character, and doing his movements. The player plays as the killer, so it will be controversial, but it’s going to be an unbelievably intricate and intelligently done game.”
What is the game? Who’s making it? When will it be out? Does it have a title yet? Sadly, all the questions were left unanswered (though Kane did say it was a company with a huge track record of good games creating it), but believe you me when I say we’re going to dig into this one! All we know now is that it’s not a Friday the 13th game, which is a bit of a bummer, but then there’s nothing wrong with an original story these days, is there?
