Hellraiser Redux Moves

Hellraiser moved to TBDThis sure ain’t cool; though I’ve been cautiously optimistic, at best, about the remake of Hellraiser, currently being written and set to be directed by the Inside team of Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury, I was hoping we wouldn’t have to wait too long to finally see it.

Dimension Films doesn’t care about my hopes, though, and has moved the remake from a September 5th, 2008 release date to “TBD”, according to Box Office Mojo. Why this hnas happened is anyone’s guess, but hopefully the extra time will allow the script to be polished to perfection. Amazing how I can still be optimistic sometimes, eh?

In slightly less surprising news, BOM also reports that MGM has moved Eli Roth’s Trailer Trash, the proposed feature-length film comprised of fake trailers, from an August release date to “TBD” as well. Personally I will be amazed if Trailer Trash gets made in the first place; the idea is just too weird for suits.

Keep it here for release date updates as we learn ‘em!

I don't like this news. I think the studio probably freaked at the screenplay these twisted guys wrote and are bringing in more mainstream writers. Typical Dimension crap - too many cooks in the kitchen. My excitement level for this has dropped.

Or very interesting, as the ultimate filmmaking challenge. Horror meets Pop Art experimentalism could be painfully pretentious or insanely cool. I wouldn't mind seeing this experiment. 90% of horror movies, or movies in general, are a waste of money. However, movie studios are such chickensh*ts that it's almost promising if one agrees to back such a risky idea. I wouldn't mind seeing more risks taken in this industry.

Trailer Trash will never get made. It is a shit concept. Roth needs to stick to doing what he does best... or blowing Tarrantino!

I agree. The idea is a stupid one, and a huge waste of time and money.

I hope "Trailer Trash" is pushed into a three year waiting period. Roth is now mimicking Tarantino to the point of announcing projects and never doing them, and I hope this movie is one of those empty promises. The concept sounds terrible. Ninety minutes of fake trailers will get very tedious, period.
