Hellboy II: The Viral Marketing
Guillermo del Toro's second Hellboy flick looks to really top the first, even in the realm of viral marketing. It's all the rage today you know, and since we've got a while until the film's July 11th release date, the following piece may prove quite interesting.
If you happened to check out the full theatrical trailer for Hellboy II: The Golden Army (“New Hellboy 2 Stills & HD Trailer” – April 2008), you probably caught the URL given out therein. If you headed to the site called Join HETFET, there wasn't a whole lot going on, but this message awaits visitors:
An abomination has been done, The wheels of motion have spun, A quarter moon past, Time hath gone fast, Our countdown has begun.
What does it mean? We've got over two months to find out.

This Friday, April 11th, Prom Night will be pandering to all the kids with its PG-13 friendly jump scares, lamps (“MySpace's Prom Night Clip” – March 2008) and actors who look far older than your average high schooler. But ... it can't all be bad, can it? AitH proved to me that there is something useful to come out of this film and it doesn't even require you having to see it! Check out the video below to see what I'm talking about.

Ahh yes, virus marketing... it's everywhere!

Gone are the days
when theaters we fled
the movie was over
and all had been said
But now sparks new life
with viral sites abound
your sex life is over
as new clues are found
One tip in the trailer
one nod scrawled online
on blogs they'll taunt you
but one at a time
you'll piss into bottles
you can't miss a trick
your social lifes over
in one little click.
