Hellboy Animated Premiere Date!
It’s about time we found out when Hellboy: Sword of Storms would be finding it’s way onto out idiot boxes, especially after the months of teasing images and storylines we’ve been getting.
Appropriately enough, the first of two animated Hellboy films that were produced by Anchor Bay’s papas, IDT, will premiere as part of Cartoon Network’s Toonami block on Saturday, October 28th at 9:30PM (ET/PT). Ron Perlman returns as the voice of Big Red, as does Selma Blair for Liz Sherman.
The story of Sword of Storms, from the pen of Tad Stones and Mike Mignola, follows a professor who opens a forbidden scroll and becomes possessed by the Japanese spirits of both Thunder and Lightning, which always sucks. When Hellboy goes to investigate for the BPRD, he’s sucked into a world of Japanese legends and monsters come to life. Very badass.
The second film, Hellboy: Blood and Iron doesn’t have a date yet, but it’s likely the won’t wait too long to show it off. Both films will be released on DVD by Anchor Bay, with Swords coming on February 6th. Be sure to hit the movies' official site for more specifics!
