Hellboy 2 Rolls!

Some more good news for you today, though it’s a few days late: Superhero Hype learned that principal photography on Hellboy 2: The Golden Army has officially begun!

Ron Perlman returns as Big Red of course, this time out to stop a ruthless leader (Luke Goss) who awakens a near-unstoppable army of creatures and sets them loose on Earth. Of course it’s never easy for the big red one, can never just be cigars and pancakes, can it?

This is going to be one helluva big movie, as you know Universal is prouder than ever to fund the new picture from a multi-Oscar award winning filmmaker, as del Toro now is thanks to Pan’s Labyrinth. I absolutely can’t wait to see what he’s able to bring to the screen this time out.

But we still have a long way to go; Hellboy 2 isn’t due to hit theatres until next August, but I’m sure that’ll be here before we know it!
